About Holy Myrrhbearer's Mission

On July 1, 2009, Metropolitan Nicholas gave his blessing for the establishment of Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Mission in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. Our first Divine Liturgy was held on September 27, 2009.

Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Mission meets each Sunday for Divine Liturgy (please see: www.hmoc.us for exact location/times). We are a Pan-Orthodox mission and have parishioners with Russian, Bulgarian, and Carpatho-Russian ethnic backgrounds. We also have a number of parishioners who are converts to the Orthodox faith.  And each person, of course, brings their own unique cultural identity with them into the Church fold. In short, Holy Myyrhbearers is blessed to have a broad American demographic representation within our growing parish.

Whether you are cradle Orthodox, a convert, or just interested in learning more about the Orthodox Christian tradition, ALL are welcome at our humble mission parish!

Please continue to remember us in your prayers as we seek to bring the Gospel to the unchurched and to those persons who may have lapsed in their faith.
