Fall 2014 Stewardship Commission Meeting

Diocesan Stewardship Commission met in Johnstown on September 30, 2014. The meeting was hosted by His Grace, Bishop Gregory and Father Frank P. Miloro, Diocesan Chancellor. JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] - The Diocesan Stewardship Commission has released today, the first of a series of weekly blog entries on Stewardship and the Orthodox Life. These short articles are provided to assist the parishes and faithful of the Diocese to increase both a personal and Church-wide understanding of the principles of Christian Stewardship, and how to integrate them on the personal, parish and Diocesan levels. Youngstown Deanery Hosts Stewardship Workshop

HERMITAGE, PA -On Saturday, May 3rd, 2014, 25 clergy and lay leaders from the parishes of the Youngstown Deanery came together for a one-day Stewardship Conference. The event was held at Saint John's Church in Hermitage, PA. Following Morning Prayers and introductions, Fr. Frederick Watson, chairman of the Diocesan Stewardship Commission, gave two presentations on the meaning of stewardship and its implementation in parishes. Read more...

Diocesan Stewardship Commission Meets, Reviews Sobor Proposal Progress

JOHNSTOWN, PA - [Diocesan Chancery] The Diocesan Stewardship Commission met on Tuesday, March 11th in Johnstown, PA. The meeting was hosted by His Grace Bishop Gregory of Nyssa and Very Reverend Protopresbyter Frank Miloro, Diocesan Chancellor. This was the first formal meeting of the Commission since the unanimous adoption of its first Stewardship Proposal by the delegates to the Diocesan Council-Sobor that took place in Johnstown from October 20 - 23, 2013. Stewardship Commission's Proposal Gets Unanimous Approval At XXII Diocesan Council/Sobor

JOHNSTOWN, PA [Diocesan Chancery]-- Consistent with its mission statement, the Stewardship Commission of the Diocese presented a proposal to the XXII Sobor/Council in Johnstown. The mission statement says: Orthodox Christian Stewardship is a Christ-centered lifestyle, which acknowledges accountability, reverence, and responsibility before God. Orthodox Christian Stewardship is a call to all of the faithful to share willingly and cheerfully the gifts that God has bestowed on them including sharing these gifts for God’s work in His Church.
