JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] - The Diocesan Stewardship Commission has released today, the first of a series of weekly blog entries on Stewardship and the Orthodox Life. These short articles are provided to assist the parishes and faithful of the Diocese to increase both a personal and Church-wide understanding of the principles of Christian Stewardship, and how to integrate them on the personal, parish and Diocesan levels. Diocesan Stewardship Commission Meets, Reviews Sobor Proposal Progress

JOHNSTOWN, PA - [Diocesan Chancery] The Diocesan Stewardship Commission met on Tuesday, March 11th in Johnstown, PA. The meeting was hosted by His Grace Bishop Gregory of Nyssa and Very Reverend Protopresbyter Frank Miloro, Diocesan Chancellor. This was the first formal meeting of the Commission since the unanimous adoption of its first Stewardship Proposal by the delegates to the Diocesan Council-Sobor that took place in Johnstown from October 20 - 23, 2013. Stewardship Commission's Proposal Gets Unanimous Approval At XXII Diocesan Council/Sobor

JOHNSTOWN, PA [Diocesan Chancery]-- Consistent with its mission statement, the Stewardship Commission of the Diocese presented a proposal to the XXII Sobor/Council in Johnstown. The mission statement says: Orthodox Christian Stewardship is a Christ-centered lifestyle, which acknowledges accountability, reverence, and responsibility before God. Orthodox Christian Stewardship is a call to all of the faithful to share willingly and cheerfully the gifts that God has bestowed on them including sharing these gifts for God’s work in His Church. Spring 2013 Stewardship Commission Meeting

The Diocesan Stewardship Commission held its 2013 spring meeting at the Chancery in Johnstown on May 14th. The meeting was co-hosted by His Grace, Bishop Gregory and Very Reverend Protopresbyter Frank Miloro, Chancellor. Father Frederick Watson, Commission chairman, reported on a presentation he made to the priests of our diocese during a Lenten Retreat hosted by Bishop Gregory at Camp Nazareth in March. Father Frederick’s presentation was an opportunity to pave the way for the forthcoming introduction of the Commission’s second volume of stewardship educational material and programs. Read more...
