Panachida for Archbishop Iakovos
His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas, joined by Clergy of the New England and New Jersey Deaneries, celebrated a Panachida for the repose of the soul of His Eminence, Archbishop IAKOVOS, former Archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of North and South America and Exarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate For the Western Hemisphere on Wednesday April 13, 2005 at the Greek Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New York City where His Eminence's body lay in state. Diocesan clergy participating with His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas were the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Michael Rosco, The Very Rev Fathers, John Pribish, Michael Macura, Luke Mihaly, David Cochran and Peter Paproski and Subdeacon Lenny Myers. Also assisting his Eminence was Fr. Alexandre Ioukliaevskikh of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary Parish, New York, NY.

Metropolitan Nicholas speaks at the end of the Panachida of the tremendous impact, Archbishop Iakovos had on him personally, being one of his consecrators to the Episcopacy, and the faithful of the diocese.
