2009 Altarboy Retreat (Sun June 28, 2009)
The 51st annual Altarboys Retreat took place at Christ the Saviour Seminary and Cathedral in Johnstown, PA from June 28-July 1, 2009. This year there were nearly 90 participants from parishes as far away as Connecticut and Virginia. The theme of this year's retreat was "Christ Lives in Me" In addition, this year's retreat was dedicated to the memory of Very Rev. Protopresbyter Stephen Dutko, who fell-asleep in the Lord on Bright Friday of this year. During the retreat the participants were given an opportunity to learn more about the life of Old Testament Saints. The posted photos show scenes from the well-balanced program of prayer, instruction and fellowship. This year's retreat master was the Very Rev. David Cochran, Pastor of St. John the Baptist Church in Bridgeport, CT. He was assisted by The Very Protopresbyters James Dutko, John Fedornock, LLuke Mihaly, Peter Paproski, the Very Rev Fathers Michael Macura, Michael Zak and Miles Zdinak, the Rev. Fathers Peter Benyo, Michael Chendorain, Andrew Fetchina, and Stephen Loposky.

Upon their arrival the altarboys spent some time in recreation on the Seminary Grounds
Father David welcomed the more than 90 altarboys who gathered for this year's retreat.
The altarboys patiently waited in line for pizza.
The altarboys enjoyed a pizza supper.
The altarboys took part in the first round of "Survivor - Johnstown & Winber" by competing in the beach ball relay.
The day ended with Evening Prayers in the Cathedral Church.
"The day is now over Lord, let this night pass without sin!"
At the end of Evening Prayers Fr. Peter Benyo spoke about why he loves being a priest.
