Holy Transfiguration Consecration Part 3

Holy Transfiguration Orthodox Mission in Crawfordsville, Indiana celebrated the consecration of their newly constructed church on the weekend of November 6-7, 2010 which was presided over by His Grace, Bishop Daniel of the Western Eparchy of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA , on behalf of His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas.

The festivities began with the celebration of Great Vespers and Litya on Saturday Evening, which was followed by a Fellowship meal in the parish hall. Sunday Morning began with the celebration of the Consecration of the Church which was followed by Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and a celebratory banquet.

The children of Holy Transfiguration present Bishop Daniel with flowers at the celebration lunch following the church’s consecration and Divine Liturgy.
Friends of Holy Transfiguration parish from near and far come to celebrate the church’s consecration. A luncheon was held at Christ Lutheran Church Hall.
Fr. Alexis thanked the many people who helped to make the day’s events possible.
His Grace Bishop Daniel spoke briefly at Fr. Alexis’s request, and presented Fr. Alexis with a beautiful print of an icon.
Following the celebration lunch and presentations, there was music and folk dancing, including a live performance by Isaac Miller, Fr. Alexis’s youngest son, on the bagpipes.
The children had a great time dancing around at the celebration following the consecration and Divine Liturgy.
The Holy Transfiguration parish family, at the time of the consecration of the church.
