Camp Nazareth Cabin Expansion Project Days 26-28 (11/23/15)

The Camp Nazareth Cabins are undergoing a major upgrade with this expansion. New bathrooms, showers, a large common room, covered front porches, and climate control (hvac) are just some of the planned upgrades.

The project is scheduled to be completed by March 1, 2016.

Photos show scenes from days 26-28 of construction: Nov 17-19, 2015.

Nov 17: It may eventually be called the "Castle on the Hill".
Nov 17: Cabins A & B have their plumbing and were back-filled.
Nov 17: A bucket unused is a useless bucket. Every trench requires just the right bucket. This guy is just waiting his turn.
Nov 17: Cabin 3 finally got its foundation dug after we took care of the clay that was discovered in the dig.
Nov 17: You might think that tough construction workers would use colors other than pink and yellow for marking out the foundation, but you would be wrong.

Nov 17: Another view of "Lands End" by Cabin 6.
Nov 17: "Lands End" at Camp Nazareth. This is between Cabin 6 and the Bathhouse.
Nov 17: "X" marks the spot, but it's all a matter of perspective, because....
Nov 17: ....we would say it's not an "X" but a cross that marks the spot. Just beyond the Cross Shrine, on the softball field side, is where the production water well will be placed.
Nov 18: When all is said and done, there will be a lot of block beneath our cabins. Cabin 3 getting its foundation laid.
Nov 18: The masons pause for a photo op at Cabin 3.
Nov 18: The production well drilling may dominate the foreground, but the Camp Church remains the center of its life.
Nov 18: The water well drillers beginning the production well drilling. The imagery of the Cross is stunning and appropriate -- the source of life for us.
Nov 19: Once the foundation is in place, you can back-fill around it. Cabin 3 getting its back-fill.
Nov 19: It's only somewhat important to make sure the foundation is put in properly
Nov 19: Cabins 3 & 6 were the last cabins to have their foundations built
