Camp Nazareth Cabin Expansion Project Days 30-32 (12/1/15)

The Camp Nazareth Cabins are undergoing a major upgrade with this expansion. New bathrooms, showers, a large common room, covered front porches, and climate control (hvac) are just some of the planned upgrades.

The project is scheduled to be completed by March 1, 2016.

Photos show scenes from days 30-32 of construction: Nov 23-25, 2015.

Nov 23 - Soon to have its trenches dug for its plumbing...for cabin 3 it's the calm before the storm.
Nov 23 - cabin 3 getting dug to have its plumbing put in.
Nov 23 - Cabin 6 gets its plumbing started.
Nov 24 - Getting set up for pouring 3 cabins today!
Nov 24 - Just waiting for the mixer to send it to the buggy to take it to the pour.
Nov 24 - Waiting for the very first pour of concrete...very exciting!
Nov 24 - The very first pour was for cabins 7 & 8.
Nov 24 - Unlike the other "quicksand" you have to move quickly with this stuff.
Nov 24 - Rubber boots are required for this job. It wouldn't take long to get stuck in the concrete it sets so quickly.
Nov 24 - The laser level that is used to make sure the concrete is the same thickness all the way around the slab.
Nov 24 - On your mark, get set....POUR!!
Nov 24 - Buggying the concrete for cabins 7 & 8. This particular pour actually splattered onto the cameraman's clothes.
Nov 24 - backfilling Cabin 3 after the plumbing was finished. It happened quickly in order to get it ready for the concrete.
Nov 24 - looks more like a pool than a pour. If you look closely you can see the reflection of the doors in the curing concrete.
Nov 24 - mixing, pouring, spreading and smoothing all takes place at the same time.
Nov 24 - cabins A & B were poured on the first day along with 4, 5, 7, and 8.
Nov 25 - Cabin 3 prepped for its pour.
Nov 25 - Next steps for Cabins 7 & 8.
Nov 25 - from right to left Bob, Bret, and Rick. These 3 were the first on site and are the guys responsible for, well, pretty much everything.
Nov 25 - while the concrete was being poured at other cabins, the plumbers were putting the finishing touches at cabin 6 so it could be poured.
Nov 25 - cabin 3 has its slab poured. All the cabins have their slabs poured. They did all the pouring in 2 days.
Nov 25 - cabins 1 & 2 getting the next steps started after the slab was poured. Getting ready for the walls.
Nov 25 - Do you know what this is? It's drying concrete! Never thought we'd get so excited over drying concrete, but it's a big step in the project to get all the cabin slabs poured.
Nov 25 - cabins 4 & 5 slab getting the finishing touches.
Nov 25- The concrete slabs have to be smooth and you have to be a little bit of an artist to make that happen. You also need the right tools, including the knee pads that allow you to "float" across the concrete.
Nov 25 - cabin 7 & 8 concrete dried and we see the beginning of the next step...
Nov 25 - putting the finishing touches on the Cabin 6 slab.
Nov 25 - the concrete was cast and so was this shadow!
