2018 Central Diocesan Lenten Retreat (3/17/18)

On Saturday March 17, 2018, the Central Region Diocesan Lenten Retreat took place at St Nicholas Orthodox Church in Homestead, PA with more than 100 faithful and clergy from various Diocesan and local Orthodox parishes in attendance.

His Grace, Bishop Gregory was the keynote speaker for the adults and spoke on the theme "Our Calling as Disciples and Evangelists"

Fr. David Urban led the youth in attendance in an interactive discussion on the theme "Windows To Heaven - Icons & The Feasts Of The Church."

Host Pastor was Fr. R. Michael Zak. Cathy Pawlik and the local ACRY Chapter members coordinated this beautiful day of worship, study and Christian Fellowship.

The Diocesan Lenten Retreats, hosted in the Eastern, Western and Central regions of the Diocese are sponsored by the National ACRY.

"It is not enough for us to be merely baptized Orthodox Christian, each of us must actively engage in evangelization."
Bishop Gregory challenged the faithful to turn off their cell phones each day and spend more time in prayer and reflection.
" I pray that the threshold of entering Paradise will not be to high for us to enter into..."
His Grace's presentations were well received.
The beautiful words of His Grace, Bishop Gregory were received by the faithful in the beautifully adorned St. Nicholas Church.
