Advent Mission Project Is A Huge Success!

JOHNSTOWN, PA [National Sr. ACRY] --- Through the generosity of numerous Sr. ACRY chapters and parishes throughout the diocese, the National Sr. ACRY is pleased to announce that their first annual Diocesan Advent Mission Project has been a huge success. To date, over $3700.00 has been collected to benefit Diocesan mission parishes. Funds collected will be used to assist our Diocesan mission parishes that are in need of various liturgical articles and supplies. The National Sr. ACRY is currently working closelywith the Diocesan Chancery to address the significant needs of our mission parishes. Read more...

2015 Lenten Youth Project To Benefit St. John the Compassionate Mission

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- With the blessing of His Grace, Bishop Gregory, the National Junior ACRY, as in previous years, has taken it upon itself to aid the Diocesan ministry of Saint John the Compassionate, located in the inner city of Toronto, Ontario. The National Junior ACRY has renewed its ongoing effort to assist in the work of Saint John the Compassionate. This renewed commitment was affirmed at the National Convention in Chicago this past summer. One again members of the Junior ACRY had the opportunity to visit the Mission this past summer and experience the labors of love that take place there each and everyday. Read more...

Archpastoral Letter For Family Camp 2015

His Grace, Bishop Gregory has issued the following Archpastoral Message regarding the upcoming Family Camp: Our Diocese is pleased to offer our third annual Family Camp at Camp Nazareth this year in conjunction with Family Day. The event is exactly what it sounds like. Families “camping” together in the Camp cabins and participating in a weekend of services, games, discussions, activities and challenges that are all designed to help families deepen their relationship with God and with one another. Encourage them to come, and, if you are able, come yourselves with your families. Last year we had 10 Families and a total of 36 participants. The Lenten Spring Has Come!

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- With the setting of the sun and the celebration of Forgiveness Vespers this evening, the season of The Great Fast has been ushered in throughout our God-Saved Diocese and the entire Orthodox Church. This Holy Season, as His Grace, Bishop Gregory has reminded us in his Lenten Archpastoral Letter, " is a time for self-examination and self-denial. We must take control of our lives and bodies with fasting in order to gain a greater awareness of our dependence on and relationship with God."
