Metropolitan Nicholas to Be Guest Speaker at Rusyn Society Dinner

MUNHALL, PA -- Save the Date! The Carpatho-Rusyn Society New Jersey Chapter's"Rusyn Heritage Dinner" will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 from 1 –5 PM at the Russian Hall, 4 Woodhull Avenue, Little Falls, NJ. Metropolitan Nicholas of Amissos of the American Carpatho-Russian Diocese of the USA will be the featured speaker. The cost of the event is $32.50 for members, $37.50 for guests and $15 for children 6-12 years old.

The event will begin with a dinner of favorite ethnic foods served family-style that will include fruit salad, mushroom soup, stuffed cabbage (holupki), kolbasi with sauerkraut, roasted garlic mashed potatoes, pork chops, mushroom gravy, dinner rolls, coffee, tea and ice cream.   Entertainment during the dinner hour will be provided by Odarka Polanskyj Stockert who will play Eastern European music on a folk harp. The Chapter's annual award will be presented to former C-RS Vice President, Maryann Sivak, for her role inoverseeing the renovation of The National Carpatho-Rusyn Cultural and Educational Center. Following the award presentation, Metropolitan Nicholas will speak on the topic "Reflections of Growing up in a Rusyn-American Home." There will also be a genealogy display, Rusyn items available for sale, a 50/50 and a raffle for a basket of wines.
