Deacon Matthew Dutko to Be Ordained to the Priesthood At The ACRY Convention Liturgy

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [ National ACRY]   With the Blessing of His Grace, Bishop Gregory, the officers of the National ACRY (American Carpatho Russian Youth)  are pleased to announce that long-time ACRY member,  Deacon Matthew Dutko,  will be ordained to the Holy Priesthood by His Grace, Bishop Gregory at this coming weekend's Annual Senior and Junior ACRY Convention Liturgy, at  Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Phoenixville, PA.

The officers and members of the ACRY are very much looking forward to being present with Deacon Matthew as he becomes, by the Grace of the Holy Spirit, a priest of our Diocese.  Deacon Matthew's ordination is only the third ordination to Holy Orders that has taken place during an ACRY Convention, and the first two ocurring at last year's convention in Chicago.

It is indeed a great blessing from God that Bishop Gregory has chosen to ordain Deacon Matthew to the Holy Priesthood during this year's convention where  the young adults of the Diocese will gather to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in revitalizing the ACRY.

Those faithful of the Diocese who  took part in last year's convention are well aware of the positive changes and renewed emphasis on hands-on philanthropic and missionary  activity in the ACRY.   At this year's convention, after experiencing the descent of the Holy Spirit upon Deacon Matthew, and by extension, the entire community during the Sunday Liturgy, the delegates will meet in small work groups to set in place concrete plans and activities which will bear witness to the new direction this longstanding Diocesan organization is taking.

Those who are not able to attend this year's convention are invited to follow the weekend's activities on our Diocesan and ACRY Facebook pages, and the photogalleries  posted on www.acrod.org and www. acry.org
