Groundbreaking Takes Place For New
Saint John's Church in Hermitage, PA

HERMITAGE, PA—On Sunday, February 12th, over 80 people gathered in prayer to break ground for the new church complex of St. John’s parish, currently of Sharon.   

The service of the Blessing of the Foundation of a Church was celebrated by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Kenneth Bachofsky, dean of the Youngstown Deanery.  He was joined by Rev. David Mastroberte, the priest of St. John’s; Very Rev. Protopresbyter Michael Polanichka; Very. Rev. Stephen Loposky; Rev. Andrew Gall of St. John’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Sharon; Rev. Hieromonk Calinic Berger of Holy Cross Romanian Orthodox Church in Hermitage; and Rev. Deacon John Anderson.

Construction is slated to begin at the end of February.  All members of the Diocese are kindly asked to pray for the speedy completion of this construction project.
