Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Mission Serves First Divine Liturgy in New Location

MOYOCK, NC -- Every Sunday afternoon for the past 13 months Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Mission has been serving Divine Liturgy in a borrowed Catholic Chapel, but all that changed on October 24, 2010. This past Sunday Holy Myrrhbearers held Divine Liturgy in their own newly leased Church space! After spending a great deal of time searching, prayer, and after receiving the generous financial support of the diocese, our mission parish now has a new spiritual home just across the state line from Hampton Roads, VA in Moyock, NC.

The faithful of the mission would like to thank His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas, Chancellor, Fr. Miloro, Chairman of the Diocese’s Mission Commission, Fr. Rosco, the Diocesen Board of Trustees, and ALL the faithful of the diocese for all the support and prayers that has led up to this point. None of the wonderful things that have happened to this mission over the past year or so would have been possible where it not for the dedication and support of so many wonderful people.  The members of the Holy Myrrhbearers Mission  truly feels God has Blessed  them beyond what they deserve and are aware that  the Holy Spirit is truly at work within our diocese!

Please continue to keep all the missions within the diocese in your thoughts and prayers. And, if you are able, please reach out to see how you can personally help them. Finally, if you are ever in Hampton Roads (Southeast Virginia / Northeast North Carolina) please visit Holy Myrrhbearers Orthodox Mission where you will  welcomed with open arms.
