New England Deanery Hosts OCMC Missionary to Tanzania

NEW ENGLAND DEANERY -- At the invitation of the New England Deanery Orthodox Christian Missionary Michael Pagedas from the Orthodox Christian Mission Center gave a presentation on Orthodox Missionary Outreach in general and in Tanzania in particular after Vespers at St. John the Baptist Church Stratford, CT (Broadbridge Avenue) on Saturday March 13, 2010.

 Michael was born and raised in Milwaukee, WI and his home parish is Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church. He was educated at Washington University in St. Louis and received a Masters Degree in Public Health from Boston University. His First OCMC mission trip was in 1998 when he traveled with a team to Yucatan, Mexico to build a chapel. He also took part in Project Mexico in 2005, and in 2008 he traveled to Tanzania where he served on two short-term mission teams: construction and teaching, along with Fr. Michael Miklos, Dean of the Florida Deanery.

 He will be returning to Tanzania this year with a team of 5 other OCMC long-term missionaries where he will be developing and implementing Public Health education programs at the Resurrection Hospital in Bukoba.
