On Saturday March 31, 2012, Holy Cross Orthodox Mission of Columbus, Ohio hosted its first Lenten Retreat. The rVery Reverend Protopresbyter Ken Bachofsky, Pastor of St. Nicholas Church (Warren, OH) and Dean of the Youngstown Deanery, served as retreat master. Retreat theme was "Prayer in a Busy Life."

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- The Diocesan Chancery is in receipt of the recently completed report by The Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of North and Central America's Research Coordinator Alexei Krindatch. This report was compiled from survey results submitted by all Orthodox parishes in the United States, including our Diocese. The 40-page report titled, Five Interesting Facts About Orthodox Church Geography and Demography in the United States provides fascinating insight into the life and practice of Orthodox communities today and our American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese in particular.

PERTH AMBOY, NJ, On Sunday March 18, 2012 at 4:00 pm, the faithful of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, were honored with a visitation by His Eminence, Archbishop Demetrios of America, Locum Tenens of the American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the USA to remember the one year anniversary of the Repose of His Eminence, +Metropolitan Nicholas.
Archbishop Demetrios was joined by His Eminence, Archbishop Anthony of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA, and a large number of Diocesan Priests, deacons and faithful of the diocesan parishes of the Eastern Seaboard region.

On this the one year observance of the falling asleep in the Lord of the ever-memorable and thrice-blessed late Metropolitan Nicholas of Amissos, I convey to all the beloved faithful of the Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Church my deepest and heartfelt condolences. Even the passing of a full year does little to soothe the feelings of loss and bereavement, yet even as we prepare to mark his passing this coming Sunday, March 18th, we know that the beloved Metropolitan now stands before the throne of God, loosed of the weaknesses and infirmities of the human existence, and replete with the joys and the fruits of the Spirit.
