Camp Nazareth Cabin Expansion Project Days 46-50 (12/22/15)

The Camp Nazareth Cabins are undergoing a major upgrade with this expansion. New bathrooms, showers, a large common room, covered front porches, and climate control (hvac) are just some of the planned upgrades.

The project is scheduled to be completed by March 1, 2016.

Photos show scenes from days 46-50 of construction: Dec. 15 - Dec. 21, 2015.

12/15 - Piles of sand for the trench where the electric lines run.
12/15 - Cabin 3 continues to have its framing done...
12/15 - Looking at Cabin 3 from what will be the front...
12/18 - Cabin 3's hallway from the new to the old portion of the cabin...
12/18 - The view from Cabin 3's window out toward the pool.
12/18 - The posts with the orange tops go off into the distance...they mark the spots where cabin water shut-offs will be.
12/19 - Digging the storm water overflow area.
12/19 - Getting ready for the trusses to be set.
12/19 - You have to make sure the walls are square and that they won't move as the trusses are set in place. The supports will eventually be removed.
12/19 - "When does a window become a door?" When Bret works on it. Each cabin needs an egress door besides its front door.
12/19 - Beginning to dig the trench for the electrical.
12/21 - The electric will run behind the cabins so it won't interfere with the other underground utilities.
12/21 - The proverbial "fork in the road."
12/21 - Running the electric trench all the way to cabins 7 & 8. Just fill the trench with running water and we have our own water slide!!
12/21 - The conduit for the electrical appears...
12/21 - The conduit gets set all along the trench..
12/21 - ...and eventually it gets set in place.
12/21 - Digging the post holes for the porches. Had to do a couple of them manually.
12/21 - But most of the post holes for the porches were dug with an auger. This auger is also used to core very large heads of cabbage when we make holupki!!
12/21 - A completed post hole...China's down there somewhere...it's the beginning of a story...not about Alice in the rabbit hole, but a camper through the post hole...
