Diocesan Clergy Convocation 2007 (Part 1)

From Tuesday May 22 - Thursday May 24, 2007, Diocesan Clergy gathered at Camp Nazareth, in Mercer PA for their biennial Priest's Convocation. This Year's Conference, in honor of the 1600th Anniversary of the Repose of St. John Chrysostom centered on the theme: " GLORY BE TO GOD FOR ALL THINGS..." - (ST JOHN CHRYSOSTOM) The assembled clergy spent two days in prayer and study. Beginning each day with Divine Liturgy, those in attendance heard talks delivered by diocesan priests, Very Rev. Protopresbyters Frank Miloro and Michael Rosco and Fathers David Cochran, Andrew Fetchina and Michael Ellis. Special guest lecturers included, iconographers Philip Zimmerman and Matthew Garrett, Professor Michael J. Thompston: Prostopinije and the Renewal of Parish Worship, and Very Rev. Father Patrick Rearden, Pastor of All Saints Antiochian Orthodox Church of Chicago, Illinois, Editor of Touchstone Magazine and Moderator of Ancient Faith Radio Program. Following evening prayers, His Eminence, Metropolitan Nicholas addressed the Clergy,thanking them for their attendance encouraging them to faithfully minister to their parishes.
Very Rev. Protopresbyter Michael Rosco, Dean of the New Jersey Deanery, spoke to the Clergy regarding IOCC's partnership with Habitat for Humanity in the building of new homes in New Orleans.

Metropolitan Nicholas presided over the Akathist Service.
Very Rev. Protopresbyter Lawrence Barriger, Vice-Chancellor, reads the Prayer at the Ambon at the conclusion of Divine Liturgy.

Wednesday began with the celebration of Matins and Divine Liturgy.
A diocesan seminarian from Rockford, Illinois reads the Epistle during Divine Liturgy.
"Making the Change by the Holy Spirit..."
Father Michael Ellis, the director of Camp Nazareth gave an informative presentation on the mission of Camp Nazareth, encouraging the Clergy to encourage their youth to attend their respective Deanery Camping Sessions.
The Great Entrance
Protopresbyter Frank P. Miloro addressed the assembled Clergy following Tuesday night's dinner regarding diocesan obligations and vocations to the Holy Priesthood.
The Convocation began on Tuesday Evening with the singing of the Akathist to the Mother of God. led by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Frank P. Miloro, Diocesan Chancellor.
