Advent Mission Project Is A Huge Success!

JOHNSTOWN, PA  [National Sr. ACRY] --- Through the generosity of numerous Sr. ACRY chapters and parishes throughout the diocese, the National Sr. ACRY is pleased to announce that their first annual Diocesan Advent Mission Project has been a huge success. To date, over $3700.00 has been collected to benefit Diocesan mission parishes. Funds collected will be used to assist our Diocesan mission parishes that are in need of various liturgical articles and supplies. The National Sr. ACRY is currently working closely with the Diocesan Chancery to address the significant needs of our mission parishes.

Sr. ACRY chapters and parishes held fund-raisers and events throughout the Advent season including selling Medoviniki, holding raffles, hosting post-Advent luncheons, and various other events. Any chapters with pictures from their events should send them to National Sr. ACRY Vice President, Rachel Pribish at sracry.vicepresident@gmail.com. These pictures may be featured on the Diocesan (www.acrod.org) and ACRY websites (acry.org) as well as the National Sr. ACRY Facebook page.

As items are purchased, more information will be made available about how the funds are being used to assist in our Diocesan mission parishes. During this Lenten Season, we ask that you keep those mission parishes in your prayers, as they are proclaiming the good news and beauty of the Orthodox Faith in their local communities.

The National Sr. ACRY would also like to thank all chapters and churches for their participation in this event, and we look forward to another successful outreach project during the next Advent Season.
