Eternal Memory: Basil Fetchina
JOHNSTOWN, PA - His Grace Bishop Gregory and the Diocesan Chancery Staff offer their sincere condolences to Very Rev. Fr. Andrew Fetchina on the repose of his father +Basil Fetchina on Tuesday, March 8, 2016.
Born in Saint Clair, PA to the late Simeon and Anastasia Chaplick Fetchina, Basil resided in Jackson for the past 15 years. Prior to his retirement, he was a salesman for Bell & Howell in Washington, DC.
He served in the Navy Reserves before being transferred to the Army, where he served during the Korean War. He was a member of St. Alexander Nevsky Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Howell.
Surviving are his wife, Vera Labunetz Fetchina; two sons, Very Rev. Father Andrew and his wife Matushka Charity Fetchina of Rahway, and David B. and his wife Debbie Fetchina of San Diego, CA; a daughter, Susan D. and her husband John Cracovaner of Ocean City; a brother, Joseph Fetchina of Clarks Summit, PA; and seven grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Howell. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery, Philadelphia, PA. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 5PM until the end of Vigil Services, Sunday after Divine Liturgy and Vespers, and Monday morning from 9AM until the time of the funeral service.
