JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] His Eminence, Metropolitan Gregory was bestowed the great honor by His All- Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, of representing Him at the enthronement of His Eminence, Metropolitan Constantine as Metropolitan of the Metropolis of Denver of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at the Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Denver, Colorado.
His Eminence, Metropolitan Gregory arrived in Denver on Friday June 21, 2024 . On Friday evening, Metropolitan Gregory accompanied His Eminence, Archbishop Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America to a dinner meeting with the Denver Metropolis clergy, presbyteras and their families at St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church. They were joined by Metropolitan Nathanael of Chicago (Locum Tenens for the Metropolis of Denver), His Eminence Metropolitan Apostolos of New Jersey, and Their Graces Bishops Athenagoras of Nazianzos, Nektarios of Diokleia, and Thomas of the Antiochian Church.
Metropolitan Gregory officiating at a service at St. Catherine Church presented on behalf of His All-Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Fr. Louis Christopulos, Chancellor of the Metropolis of Denver, with the Offikion of Protopresbyter of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, honoring him for his dedication and work for the Metropolis of Denver and for his ministry.
On Saturday, June 22, 2024, His Eminence, Metropolitan Gregory took part in the Enthronement Ceremony and Doxology Service at Assumption Greek Orthodox Cathedral, and read the official letter of congratulation and paternal exhortation from His All Holiness, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. Following the Enthronement Ceremony, His Eminence, Metropolitan Gregory joined the newly enthroned Metropolitan Constantine and His Eminence, Archbishop Elpidophoros, along with the other Orthodox Hierarchs and Ecumenical Guests, and faithful of the Metropolis of Denver at a festal luncheon.
