MERCER, PA -- From Friday, December 28 – Sunday, December 30 Camp Nazareth hosted a Winter Staff Retreat. The event was open to former staff members and potential staff members who are considering working at Camp this coming summer. It was a weekend designed to bring veteran and potential new staff together in the Camp environment to learn, pray together, get to know each other, enjoy the Camp in the off-season, and have fun in Christ together

JOHNSTOWN — [Tribune_Democrat] The results are in. In our completely unscientific online survey, your top story of 2012 is: (Drum roll, please) The Nov. 27 ordination of Bishop Gregory of Nyssa as leader of American Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the USA. The story received 178 votes out of 227 cast in the poll, far out-distancing the news of Rep. Mark Critz’s loss to Allegheny County Republican Keith Rothfus in the November election. Critz-Rothfus only received 14 votes in our poll.

My ears resound to the shepherd's song, piping no soft melody, but loudly chanting a heavenly hymn! The angels sing! The archangels blend their voices in harmony! INDIANA, PA [OCF] Father Matthew Conjelko, the Spiritual Advisor of the IUP Orthodox Christian Fellowship, visited IUP’s campus to offer dorm/apartment blessings for participating OCF members. As a graduating senior, I greatly appreciated this treat. The students learned about the reasons we have our homes blessed. I was also so very happy to receive and learn about an icon Father had brought for each student, as a reminder of the apartment blessings that occurred.

On Sunday December 2, 2012 The Pittsburgh Deanery hosted its annual St. Nicholas Charity Dinner for the benefit of our Christ the Saviour Seminary. It was held at Banquets Unlimited in Wilmerding, PA. There were nearly 100 in attendance. The evening's program included a traditional Rusyn Bethlehem Play, the Jaslickari (visitors to the manger) performed by our seminarians from Christ the Saviour Seminary. It was a special honor to have His Grace Bishop Gregory in attendance who delivered an inspirational message for the season. The evening's festivities gave His Grace the opportunity to informally meet and greet many of the faithful from the Pittsburgh Deanery Churches.

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] With thankfulness to Almighty God, the much anticipated day of the consecration (ordination) of His Grace, Bishop-Elect Gregory to the Episcopacy is quickly approaching. According to Diocesan Chancellor, The Very Rev. Protopresbyter Frank P. Miloro, preparations for this historic day in the life of the diocese are nearly complete. His Grace, Bishop-Elect Gregory arrived in Johnstown on Monday November 19 and has taken up residence in the Episcopal Residence.
