The scripture study was led by Very Rev. Protopresbyter Kenneth Bachofsky, Professor of Sacred Scripture at Christ the Saviour Seminary. Fr. HERMITAGE, PA -- On Saturday May 18, 2013, His Grace, Bishop Gregory of Nyssa, assisted by the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Michael Polanichka, Fr. David Mastroberte and clergy of the Youngstown Deanery and other Diocesan and local Orthodox parishes, consecrated the newly constructed St. John The Baptist Orthodox Church in Hermitage, PA. Following the two hour long Consecration Service, The first Liturgy in the newly consecrated Church was celebrated by His Grace, Bishop Gregory and the assembled Clergy.

PERTH AMBOY, NJ -- His Grace Bishop Gregory of Nyssa presided over Funeral Services for the Very Rev. Protopresbyter Michael Rosco. Scores of Diocesan Priests and Deacons, and hundreds of family members, parishioners and friends of Fr Michael Rosco filled the Church to capacity at the Priestly Funeral Service held on Sunday Evening, May 19th and the Divine Liturgy on Monday May 20, 2013.

JOHNSTOWN, PA -- On Sunday, May 12, 2013, The faculty, students and family members of Christ the Saviour Seminary gathered at the Three Hierarch's Chapel for the Annual Commencement Ceremony. This year, the Bachelor of Theology Degree was awarded to Seminarian/ Sub-deacon William George. The Commencement Ceremony began with the celebration of the Moleben Service by Very Rev. Protopresbyter Frank P. Miloro, Dean of Students.

CAMP NAZARETH - MERCER, PA -- Thanks to a generous scholarship grant college students will receive a $25 reduction in the fee for the Overcome the World College Retreat being held May 19-21, 2013 at Camp Nazareth Retreat and Conference Center in partnership with OCF. Each student who attends the Retreat will receive $25 off their tuition. The Retreat promises to be exciting and informative and with this scholarship grant is now even more affordable for each student.

Organized through the efforts of a committee of young adults representing parishes throughout the region headed by Michael Pacurar, the event will include a round-robin soccer tournament, ethnic dance exhibition, corn-hole tournament, and international festival.

JOHNSTOWN, PA [Diocesan Chancery] His Grace, Bishop Gregory headed east the weekend of April 19-21, 2013 where he traveled to Holy Ghost Orthodox Church in Phoenixville for a parish visitation. Arriving on Friday evening, he was in attendance for the Presanctified LIturgy. On Saturday, he served as the Retreat Master for the the Eastern Regional Lenten Retreat, held at Holy Ghost Parish. His visit concluded on Sunday with the celebration of the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy and an opportunity to meet with the youth and adult members of the parish at a Lenten luncheon.

JOHNSTOWN, PA [Diocesan Chancery] -- This past weekend, scores of faithful of the Eastern Seaboard and Western Regions of the Diocese retreated from the world to spiritually rejuvinate themselves at the Annual Lenten Retreats sponsored by the National Senior ACRY. On Saturday April 20, 2013, Holy Ghost Orthodox Church of Phoenixville, PA was the host for the Eastern Regional Retreat. His Grace, Bishop Gregory of Nyssa was the retreat master and was assisted by Fr Peter Zarynow of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Potomac Maryland and Mr Theodore (Theo) Nikolakis, Chief Information Officer of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

WINDBER, PA -- On Sunday April 14, 2013, His Grace, Bishop Gregory made his first pastoral visitation to Sts. Peter and Paul Orthodox Church in Windber PA. His Grace celebrated the Hierarchical Divine LIturgy, assisted by Very Rev. Fr. Miles Zdinak, Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Church. At the conclusion of Divine Liturgy, His Grace, engaged in a dialogue with the faithful and youth in attendance. Following Liturgy, a Lenten Brunch in honor of His Grace was held in the parish hall.
