Stephen Jula, will lie in repose on Sunday, August 17 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM in St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 22909 Center Ridge Road, Rocky River, Ohio 44116 Funeral Service for a priest will be led by Bishop Gregory and Diocesan Clergy at 7 PM. Funeral Divine Liturgy will be on Monday morning at 10:00 am at St. Demetrios Church.

Diocesan Youth Take Part In ASP Mission Trip to Mingo County, WV
MINGO COUNTY, WV -- From Saturday, June 19 to Sunday, June 27, the Orthodox Youth Mission Team traveled to Mingo County, West Virginia - Home of the Hatfield and McCoy Feud. Ten months of preparations culminated in 28 people - 9 adults and 19 youths from six different parishes and three different Orthodox jurisdictions - traveling to Matewan, WV to work on four different projects for four different families. Lives were changed, peoples homes were repaired, but more importantly the Love of Christ was experienced in a way that challenged all those who went. ACRY Convention Deadlines Extended
JOHNSTOWN, PA [National ACRY] -- It’s not too late to make your plans for the upcoming 70th Senior and 31st Junior ACRY Conventions hosted by Phoenixville Chapter #30. The deadline for hotel reservations has been extended to Tuesday August 5. Meal packages, as well as ads, patrons and boosters for the program booklet can still be sent in, postmarked by August 8.
ACRY Convention Deadlines Quickly Approaching
JOHNSTOWN, PA [National ACRY] -- The Phoenixville chapter is hard at work finalizing plans for the National ACRY convention. With the deadline for ads, patrons and boosters, plus meal package selections and other information fast approaching - materials should be postmarked by Monday July 28 - chapters are encouraged to return their information as soon as possible. Also, room reservations must be made no later than Wednesday, July 30, 2014 in order to obtain the convention rate.

Double Ordination To Take Place at Camp Nazareth

During the Liturgy, Seminary Graduate Matthew Dutko, of St. Michael's Church in Binghamton, NY will be ordained to the orders of Reader, Sub-deacon and Deacon and Deacon Joseph Birthisel, of Christ the Saviour Cathedral in Johnstown will be ordained to the Holy Priesthood.
Registration Now Open For ACRY Convention/Get-Away Weekend
NATIONAL ACRY -- The Phoenixville, PA ACRY Chapter is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the 2014 ACRY Convention/Get-Away-Weekend which will take place on Labor Day Weekend, August 29-September 2014 in King of Prussia, PA. The chapter has been working hard to provide a great Convention this year. ACRY members and all members of the Diocese are welcome to take part. The City of Philadelphia, with its many attractions such as the Philadelphia Art Museum, Philadelphia Zoo (America’s 1st zoo!), Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, is a 30 minute drive from the hotel.

John C. Kulis Charitable Foundation Gives Grant to Camp Nazareth
JOHNSTOWN, PA -- The Diocesan Chancery is pleased to announce that Camp Nazareth has received a $10,000 grant from the John C. Kulis Charitable Foundation to help children and families in need cover the cost of attending Camp for 2014. The $10,000 grant is being equally divided between the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Pittsburgh and our Diocese. The $5,000 we have been given translates to roughly 17 additional full scholarships to attend Camp this year. We are grateful to Foundation’s Board of Trustees for the opportunity this will give our Diocese to reach more children through the Camp Nazareth program.
Diocesan Altarboy Retreat Registration Deadline Nears
JOHNSTOWN, PA - [Diocesan Chancery] The registration deadlline for the 2014 Diocesan Altarboy retreat, which will take place at Christ the Saviour Cathedral and Seminary from June 29 - July 2, 2014, is quickly approaching. The deadline for registration and payment for the retreat is this coming Monday June 17, 2014.
Diocesan College Student To Travel to St. Nicholas Home For Children
BINGHAMTON, NY -- Maria Korchak, a parishioner of St. Michael's Parish in Binghamton, NY who will begin her Junior year at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, is spending part of her summer in Europe. She is presently enrolled in the university’s “Holocaust in Central Europe,” with seminars in Prague, Krakow, Lublin & Warsaw, and Vilnius . Afterwards, she will participate in the Studium Carpato-Ruthenorum International Summer School for Rusyn from June 15-July 5th.
