National ACRY Offers Immediate Assistance to Flood Stricken Parishes
PITTSBURGH, PA -- The National Junior and Senior ACRY (American Carpatho-Russian Youth) during the opening session of the 67th National Senior and 28th National Junior Convention, today, voted unanimously to extend a helping hand to the Diocesan Parishes of Manville and Rahway New Jersey, who received extensive water damage from Hurricane Irene.
The membership of the Junior ACRY took up a "pass the hat" collection that netted $100.00 and the Senior ACRY delegates unanimously authorized a donation of $5,000.00 to be immediately distributed to the affected parishes.
While recognizing that their humble offering on behalf of their suffering brothers and sisters of the diocese falls far short of their needs, none-the-less, the members of the National ACRY pray that their assistance will bring them comfort in knowing that the prayers, support and love of their diocesan family are with them in their time of need.
The National ACRY is the Orthodox Christian Family Fellowship of The American
Carpatho-Russian Orthodox Diocese of the U.S.A whose mission is to encourage spiritual growth through charitable and apostolic missionary works, prayer and fellowship for the Glory of God and the building up of the Church and our Diocese.
