Camp Receives Generous Donation To Allow Needy Children To Attend Camp
MERCER, PA -- Recently Camp Nazareth was the recipient of a very generous gift to help our children attend Camp. The gift was an unsolicited $2800 contribution that was given for camp scholarships. This will allow at least 10 children to attend our 2013 Summer Camp Program at no charge or allow 20 children to attend at half the cost. In conjunction with the ACRY’s generous annual contribution for camperships (usually 10 camperships), this becomes an even more significant fund to help some of our neediest children who would otherwise not be able to attend Camp, deepen their faith, form lasting friendships with their Orthodox peers, and experience the Camp program.
Without knowing the specific reasons for the contribution, the Camp expresses its gratitude for such a gift. Our Diocesan Camp has always been the beneficiary of our faithful’s generosity and it has always tried to use what is entrusted to it in a way that is well-pleasing to God, and in a way of which our Diocese can be proud. This partnership with our faithful, and the love they have for Camp Nazareth and our children, is beautifully expressed in their generosity and in their concern for our children, especially the neediest among them. Again, the Camp is grateful to God for His many blessings among which are the faithful who have supported and continue to support the Camp. Without that support Camp Nazareth would be unable to operate, but with that support, by God’s grace and mercy, we continue to transform the young lives entrusted to us.
If your child is in need of a scholarship to come to Camp, please notify your parish priest who will then contact the Camp to discuss the possibility of receiving a campership or scholarship in order to attend the Camp’s Summer Program.
