2012 Seminary Graduation Exercises
Christ the Saviour Seminary in Johnstown awarded two degrees for the 2011-2012 academic year. The graduation exercise took place at the close of daily Vespers on May 4.
Father Michael Rustick, priest in residence, celebrated the Vespers. At its conclusion, Protopresbyter Frank P. Miloro spoke to the seminarians. “There are two kinds of classrooms in this seminary,” he noted. “One is filled with desks. The other has an altar at its center. Since 1940, the chapel and the classroom have been hand-in-hand educating our future priests. What is learned in the classroom is delivered to the people through the church and the ordained clergy. If you have regarded either the chapel or the classroom less than the other, you have done a disservice to your future ministry”.
Father Miloro complimented all the students for a year of excellence, and awarded the Bachelor of Theology Degree to Rev. Fr. Joseph Gingrich, and the Licentiate of Theology Degree to Sem. Jonathan Bannon.
A dinner was served afterwards for students and graduates and their guests in the seminary refectory.
