Diocesan College Student To Travel to St. Nicholas Home For Children
BINGHAMTON, NY -- Maria Korchak a parishioner of St. Michael's Parish in Binghamton, NY, who will begin her Junior year at the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA, is spending part of her summer in Europe.
She is presently enrolled in the university’s “Holocaust in Central Europe,” with seminars in Prague, Krakow, Lublin & Warsaw, and Vilnius . Afterwards, she will participate in the Studium Carpato-Ruthenorum International Summer School for Rusyn from June 15-July 5th. The program is hosted by Presov University‘s Institute of Rusyn Language and Culture.
Before returning at the end of July to serve one week as a member of the 2014 Camp Nazareth Summer Staff, she will also volunteer to work with the youngsters of the St. Nicholas Children’s Home in Medzilaborce.
