A Modest Lenten Request
TORONTO, ONTARIO -- "For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;" (Gospel Reading - Meatfare Sunday)
St. John the Compassionate Mission, an Apostolate of the American Carpatho- Russian Orthodox Diocese is asking assistance from those who wish to respond to the gospel command to help "the least of these My brethren" in a tangible way. At St. John the Compassionate Mission, a person can be fed and kept warm throughout the entire winter for $75.00
Those who are able are asked to consider "adopting" one person (or more). This small gesture will not only help feed and warm someone in need, but will also let them know that someone indeed cares for them.
