Diocese of the US
My dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
"With the saints give rest, O Christ, to the soul of Thy servant,
where there is neither sickness, nor sorrow, nor sighing, but life everlasting."
Kontakion for the Departed
I greet you in the Name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
As we are in the holy season of Great Lent, I fervently pray that our shared journey toward Holy Pascha and our Lord'sglorious Resurrection will enlighten us and spiritually uplift us, giving us the hope of Salvation in His Kingdom of Heaven. It seems incredible to me that it has been almost a year since the falling asleep in the Lord of your spiritual father and hierarch, Metropolitan Nicholas, of blessed memory. Yet we can take comfort in the knowledge that his legacy and his spirit are still motivating and inspiring you to witness to the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
As you commemorate his passing a year ago tomorrow, let the memorial service be an inspiration for all of you to understand the power of the Gospel, and the love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, as we pray for the repose of the soul of your deeply respected and beloved Metropolitan Nicholas. I pray that the this holy season of Great Lent will be a time of reflection, a time of renewal and a time that will allow all of us to be spiritually uplifted to truly experience His glorious Resurrection.
Entreating our Lord's blessings upon you always, I remain.
With love in Christ prayerfully yours,
+ALEXIOS
Metropolitan of Atlanta
