THE HYMN OF THE INCARNATION

You have permitted us to offer these prayers with a single and united voice. You promised that You will grant the requests of two or three gathered in Your Name. Please fulfill all those petitions of Your servants that are beneficial to them, giving us in this world the knowledge of Your truth and life eternal in the world to come. Priest: We thank You, O Lord God of Powers, for having deemed us worthy to stand, at this time, before Your holy altar, and to prostrate ourselves before Your mercy, for our sins and for the people's transgressions. Accept our prayer, O God, and make us worthy to offer You prayers and supplications and unbloody sacrifices for all Your people, and enable us whom You have placed in this Your ministry through the power of Your Holy Spirit, to call upon You at all times and in all places, without condemnation and blame, with a true testimony of our conscience so that, hearing us, You may be merciful to us in the Greatness of Your goodness. For to You is due all glory, honor and worship, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, now and ever and forever. Amen.
Again and again, we fall down before You and beseech You O gracious Lover of Mankind, that You hear our prayer and cleanse our souls and bodies of every defilement of flesh and spirit. Grant that we may stand before Your holy Altar without blame and condemnation. Bestow also, O God upon those who pray with us, advancement in faith and life and spiritual understanding. Grant that they who serve You in fear and love may partake of Your holy Mysteries without blame and condemnation and be found worthy of Your heavenly kingdom, so that, being ever protected by Your power, we may render glory to You, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and forever. O King of Glory, no one is worthy to come to You, to draw near You, or to perform a service for You when he is bound down by desires and pleasures of the flesh; for to serve You is something grand and inspiring, even for the heavenly powers themselves. And yet, because of Your ineffable and boundless love for mankind, though in nature unchanged and unchangeable, You became both a man and our High Priest and, as Master of all, conferred upon us the sacred power of offering this liturgical and bloodless sacrifice, for You alone, O Lord our God, rule over all things in heaven and on earth and are borne on the throne of the Cherubim and are the Lord of Seraphim and the King of Israel, Who alone are holy and abide in the saints. Still, I pray to You, Who alone are gracious and ready to hear me: look favorably upon Your sinful and unworthy servant, and cleanse my heart and soul from all thought of evil, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, enable me who have been clothed with the grace of the priesthood to stand before Your holy altar and to offer the sacrifice of Your most pure Body and precious Blood. I come to You with my head bowed low and implore You: Turn not Your Face away from me, nor exclude me from among Your children, but allow these gifts to be offered to You by me, Your sinful and unworthy servant, for it is You, O Christ, Who offer and are offered, Who receive and are received, and we give glory to You and to Your eternal Father and Your life-giving Spirit, now and ever and forever. THE GREAT ENTRANCE

Priest: May the Lord God remember in his kingdom his All-Holiness, the Ecumenical Patriarch (N), Archbishop of Constantinople, our Most Reverend Metropolitan (N) (Our God-loving Bishop (N)) , the venerable priesthood, the diaconate in Christ, the monks and nuns and clerics of the Church, the honorable government of our country and its armed forces, the blessed and ever-remembered founders and benefactors of our churches, monasteries, the sick at home, in hospitals and institutions, our brothers and sisters who suffer persecution for the Holy Faith throughout the world, our civil authorities and the Armed Forces of this nation and may the Lord God remember in His Kingdom the souls of His departed servants, the ever-memorable founders of this church (N) and the departed servant(s) (N) and all you Orthodox Christians, may the Lord God remember you in His Kingdom, always now and ever and forever.
All: Amen. That we may raise on high the King of All, Who comes invisibly escorted by angelic hosts. Alleluia! Alleluia! Alleluia!
Entering the Altar by way of the Royal Doors, the priest places the chalice on the antimension and takes the discos from the deacon and places it to the left of the chalice. The priest then takes the small veils off the vessels and places them to the side. He takes the vozducies from the deacon and fumigates it, then covers the gifts with it as he says:
Priest: The noble Joseph, having taken Your most pure Body down from the Cross, wrapped it in a clean shroud and anointed it with fragrant spices and laid it in a new tomb.
He then incenses the gifts three times, saying:
Priest: In Your kindness, O Lord, be bountiful to Zion; may the walls of Jerusalem be restored. Then will You delight in just oblation, in sacrifice and whole-burnt offerings. Then shall they lay calves upon Your Altar.
He returns the censer to the deacon, bows his head and says to the clergy:
Priest: Remember me, brothers and fellow concelebrants.
Clergy: May the Lord God remember Your priesthood in his kingdom, always now and ever and forever.
Priest: Pray for me, my fellow concelebrants.
The deacon also bows his head and, holding out the orarion in his right hand, says:
Priest: The Holy Spirit shall come upon you, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow you.
Priest: May the Spirit Himself join with us in our celebrations all the days of our lives.
Priest: Remember me, holy master.
Priest: May the Lord God remember you in His kingdom, always now and ever and forever.

The Priest quietly esays the following prayer:
Priest: O Lord God Almighty, Who alone are holy and receive the sacrifice of praise from those who call upon You with all their heart, accept the prayer of us sinners also; bring us to Your holy altar, enable us to offer gifts and spiritual sacrifices for our sins and for the transgressions of Your people; allow us also to be worthy to find favor in Your sight, that our sacrifice may be pleasing to You, and that the good Spirit of Your grace may rest upon us and upon these gifts lying before us, and upon all of Your people.

Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten not made, consubstantial with the Father by Whom all things were made. Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and was made man. He was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate and suffered and was buried, And the third day He arose again, according to the Scriptures. And He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. And He shall come again with glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom shall have no end. And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, Who proceeds from the Father, Who together with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets. Priest: With these blessed powers, O Master and Lover of Mankind, we too cry out and say: Holy are You and all-holy, You and Your only-begotten Son and Your Holy Spirit. Holy are You and all-holy and sublime is Your glory: You loved Your world so much that You gave Your only-begotten Son, that everyone who believes in Him should not perish, but should have everlasting life. And after He had come and fulfilled everything in the divine plan for our redemption, on the night on which He was betrayed, or rather, on the night on which He gave Himself up for the life of the world, He took bread into his holy, all-pure and immaculate hands, and having given thanks, blessed, sanctified and broke it, and gave it to His holy disciples and apostles, saying:

HYMN TO THE VIRGIN
People: You are truly deserving of glory, O Birth-giver of God, the ever-blessed and most-pure Mother of our God. More honorable than the Cherubim and beyond compare more glorious than the Seraphim, who as a Virgin Gave birth to God the Word, true Birth-giver of God, we magnify you.
Meanwhile the priest prays quietly.
Priest: For the holy prophet, forerunner of Christ and Baptist John, the holy, glorious and illustrious Apostles, St. Maximos the Confessor, whose memory we celebrate today, and for all Your saints, through whose prayers, O God, visit us.
Remember also, O Lord, the souls of Your departed, all those who have fallen asleep in the hope of resurrection unto eternal life. Remember, O Lord, the souls of Your departed servants N.N., and grant them rest where the light of Your Face shines.
Furthermore we entreat You, O Lord, remember all Orthodox Bishops who faithfully dispense the word of Your truth, all the priests, the deacons in Christ and all others in holy orders.
Furthermore we offer to You this spiritual sacrifice for the whole world, for the holy, catholic and apostolic Church, for those living in chastity and honor, for our honorable government and its armed forces. Grant them, O Lord, a peaceful rule that, sharing their tranquility, we may lead a calm life in all piety and purity.

Priest: We commend our whole life unto You, O Master Who loves mankind, and we beseech, pray and beg You: make us worthy to partake of Your heavenly and awesome Mysteries from this sacred and spiritual altar, with a pure conscience, for the forgiveness of sins, for the pardon of transgressions, for the communion of the Holy Spirit, for the inheritance of the kingdom of heaven, for confidence in You, and not for judgment nor condemnation.

O Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom.

Let the partaking of Your holy Mysteries, 0 Lord, be not for my judgment or condemnation, but for the healing of my soul and my body.

The faithful then sing the appointed Communion Hymn

The priest takes the Gifts to the prothesis table, places them there and incenses them three times, then returns to his place as the people sing the following:

The deacon uncrosses his orarion and returns to the ambon to intone the following litany as the Metropolitan refolds the antimension.
THANKSGIVING LITANY
Priest: Having received the divine, holy, most pure, immortal, heavenly and life-creating awesome Mysteries of Christ, arise, let us worthily give thanks to the Lord.
People: Lord, have mercy.
Priest: Help us, save us, have mercy on us and protect us, O God, by Your grace.

Priest: Having asked that this day will be perfect, holy, peaceful and without sin, let us commend ourselves and one another, and our whole life to Christ our God.

The priest prays the Prayer of Thanksgiving quietly.
Priest: We thank You, Master Who Loves Mankind and Benefactor of our souls, that this day You have deemed us worthy of Your heavenly and immortal Mysteries. Make straight our paths, strengthen us in the fear of You; guard our life, make firm our steps; through the prayers of the Birth-giver of God and ever-Virgin Mary and of all Your saints.
And the priest makes the sign of the cross over the antimension with the Gospel Book and places the Book on the folded antimension as he says aloud.
Priest: For You are our sanctification and to You we give glory, to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever, and forever.
