Registration Opens For 2022 Young Women's Encounter
JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] -- Registration is now open for the Annual Diocesan Young Women's Encounter which will take place from Sunday, June 26th to Wednesday, June 29th, 2022, at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Windber, PA. We encourage our young women, ages 12 to 18 to attend.
The YWE is a retreat created for our young women to have fellowship with their Orthodox sisters in Christ while having fun and growing in love of our Lord Jesus Christ. The YWE includes spiritual discussions, special events, and more!

Registration Opens For 2019 Young Women's Encounter
JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] - Registration is now open for the SIXTH Annual Diocesan Young Women's Encounter which will take place from Sunday, June 30th to Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Windber, PA. We encourage our young women, ages 12 to 18 to attend.
This engaging experience will highlight how young women can live our Orthodox Faith and serve the Church with their own unique gifts. The YWE is designed specifically for our young women to provide them an opportunity to spend time in fellowship with each other, have fun, and pray together. This year we will have the blessing to spend some time at the Orthodox Monastery of the Holy Transfiguration in Ellwood City, PA.
Save The Date: 2018 Young Women's Encounter
JOHNSTOWN, PA -- [Diocesan Chancery] - Plans are now in place for the FIFTH Annual Diocesan Young Women's Encounter which will take place from Sunday, July 1st to Wednesday, July 4th, 2018 at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Windber, PA. We encourage our young women, ages 12 to 18 to attend.
This engaging experience will highlight how young women can live our Orthodox Faith and serve the Church with their own unique gifts. This year we will particularly be focusing on prayer, with the Mother of God as a model for all Orthodox Christians, and the verse Romans 12:12,... rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation and continuing steadfastly in prayer...
Registration will be primarily online like last year and will be open soon. A link will be placed on the the home page at www.acrod.org when registration opens. Space will be limited to the first thirty respondents, so participants are urged to register in a timely manner. Registration Deadline is Friday, June 8, 2018.
All parishes of the Diocese are urged to underwrite the $100.00 participation fee for their young women in recognition of all the ways that these young women serve their parishes.

This engaging experience, which is open to young women in our Diocese ages 12-18, will highlight how young women can live our Orthodox Faith and serve the Church with their own unique gifts. This year we are really looking forward to having Katrina Bitar with us. She is the YES North America Program Director (Youth Equipped to Serve) for FOCUS North America (Fellowship of Orthodox Christians United to Serve.)
2015 Young Women's Encounter Registration Deadline Nears
JOHNSTOWN, PA -- As the 2nd Young Women's Encounter approaches Bishop Gregory asks for the continued prayers of our Diocesan family for the young women of our Diocese and for this event to help them love Christ and live their Orthodox faith. The registration deadline is Monday, June 1st and as of today the Encounter is half way to its participant limit! All young women of the Diocese, age 11-18, are encouraged to register by sending in their registration form for the Young Women's Encounter. They can submit their forms by mail or email if they follow by mailing the originals. Parish priests are asked if any young women in their parish have let them know that they want to or plan to attend

The Encounter, which is open to young women in our Diocese ages 12-18, will provide an opportunity for the young women of our Diocese to spend time in each other’s company, have fun, pray together, and learn about how God calls each woman to serve His church with her talents and abilities.
Archpastoral Letter On The First Annual Young Women's Retreat
Dear Diocesan Parents and Children, This summer, our Diocese is pleased to offer a new event specifically for our young women. The First Annual Young Women’s Retreat will provide an opportunity for the young women of our Diocese to spend time in each other’s company, have fun, pray together, and learn about how God calls each woman to serve His church with her talents and abilities. This Retreat will take place concurrently with the Diocesan Altar Boy’s Retreat. In many ways, these separate experiences are meant to parallel each other, with each focusing on the experience, vocations, and unique gifts bestowed upon the young men and women of our Church.
