2009-2010 Cathedral Church School Program Begins Sun. Sept. 13
September 3, 2009
JOHNSTOWN, PA - The Cathedral Sunday School Program will begin on Sunday, September 13th. Installation of teachers is September 20. Classes are pre-school through grade 12. Please note: NEW THIS YEAR - children will leave Liturgy after Communion, and come directly to the Ed Center for cookies and milk before classes begin. Classes will run from 10:15 to 11 AM. Parents waiting for children may enjoy "Coffee Shop" in the Cathedral Auditorium.
ALSO NEW THIS YEAR - A Bible Study Group will meet at the same time in lieu of an adult class. Study will be co-ordinated by Father Deacon Guy Gromm. Come! Bring your Orthodox Study Bible (or any Bible) and discuss a topic requested by the group. (Bibles also available in Sunday School.) There will be no evening Bible study group. The over-all theme for classes will focus on learning about stewardship and the importance of using our time and talents to keep up the beauty of God's house of worship. In doing so, our own lives will be changed, and we will be following Christ's teaching to "serve". There are many projects, big or small, in which everyone can participate. Let's be examples for our children to follow!
This year's Church School Co-ordinators are Louise Brudnak and Nancy Kobal. John Kobal will assist as Hall Monitor and Christina Sakmar will be the Librarian.
May Almighty God Bless all of our students and dedicated teachers during this new Church School Year.
