Saturday’s Kitchen Prepares For Annual Christmas Dinner
JOHNSTOWN, PA -- On Christmas Day, Saturday's Kitchen will host approximately 200 people for its 4th annual dinner (served in conjunction with the St. Vincent dePaul Society) at the Family Kitchen in downtown Johnstown.
Father Frank P. Miloro and Cathedral parishioners Joan and Ron Bost, founders of Saturday's Kitchen, have reported that the Orthodox parishes of the area, together with help from Catholic and Protestant congregations, have collected over $5,000 in items - enough for 200 bags each of toiletries and groceries to be distributed by St. Nicholas after the dinner. For the last two weeks these items have been collected, sorted and bagged in the lower-level meeting rooms of the Chancery. They'll also give away hats, gloves and scarves. Everyone will get a bag of homemade cookies made by the Cathedral and other parishes, and each child will receive a toy.
